Last time our line-up was pretty much sorted; today it was classic Bránice and everything was the other way round. Why some didn't turn up is for each of them to square with themselves — for some there were genuine reasons, for others it was pretty lame. Thank goodness Mara Chýla showed up after a long break, otherwise we'd have been properly stuffed — thanks!

In short, it was an odd game from the very start. First the hosts somehow forgot that a kick-off needs something like stewards, but in the end that got sorted, linesman included. It was meant to be football, but it was more of a birthday kickabout with a huge number of stray passes on both sides. Then there was the wind, which made complete nonsense of high balls — at one point it even blew the flag off the linesman's pole, but the quick-thinking home bench slipped a training bib onto the bare stick so he didn't look like a conductor in some botched comedy...

Our first goal was a bit comical too: Mara found Tenzi with an accurate pass, Tenzi at first just shot straight at the onrushing keeper, but the ball somehow came back to him and he lobbed everything in front of him with a candle of a shot that nearly went into orbit. Whether he meant it or just mis-hit it is anyone's guess. Either way, from that moment he strutted around like a peacock and wouldn't pass to anyone...

In the second half we needed to weather the expected home pressure, which we managed without much trouble, and on top of that we added a second goal: Karel, after one of his trademark weaving runs down the left, whipped the ball into the box, where David picked it up, did almost the same little dance and finished with an unstoppable curler into the net — and suddenly our world was a happier place!

Zbraslav then tried to do something about the scoreline, and just to keep things interesting we even helped them a few times with dangerous set pieces around the box and from corners. But Viktor in our goal was close to flawless today, and the hosts' finishing was wooden.

Otherwise the whole show passed off calmly, with hardly any bigger disputes, and the referee put in a very likeable performance too — so from our point of view all that's left is to hope it carries on like this for as long as possible.
